Rent of student accommodation is one of SiA's main activities. We have 1000 attractive places to live near the campuses and the centres of Kristiansand, Grimstad and Arendal.

Living in a student community is exciting. With SiA's accommodation it is also good to know that the practicalities are taken care of.
 
Although not all students in Southern Norway live in our accommodation, our wide offer of accommodation helps to keep prices down also for those who rent privately. 

The accommodation office is a part of SiA, the welfare and culture organization for students in the southernmost part of Norway. We want "Sørlandet" to be known as the country's best place to study.

Important:

Only PhD students with funding through NUFU, NORAD or "lånekassen" are allowed to pay semester fee. All other PhD students are seen as employees and cannot get students benefits.  They have to pay 30% more in rent. This is due to the regulations for "Studentsamskipnader" in Norway controlled by law.

HOW TO PAY YOUR RENT
If you want to pay from a bank in your home country:

You will have to ask the bank to transfer the money in NOK and inform that you wish to pay all fees until the money arrives SiA's bank.

If your bank only transfers in EURO, you have to pay a little more (approx.NOK 150-200,-) If you pay too much you can come to SiA's office at the end of our stay and receive a refund.

If you wish to pay for several months at a time:  On your invoice it is stated what you have to pay per month, plus internet under "PRIS".  You have to calculate how many months you wish to pay for and change the amount on the invoice.  You will then receive your invoice each month with a zero/0,- until your advance payment has been spent.

It is probably less expensive to pay cash in a bank in Norway, less fees. (NOK 50-80,-)
